The MCS Mission Statement reminds us that our goal as a school is "to equip students with knowledge and understanding of that which is true and excellent, and the tools to share their gifts, talents, and knowledge with others; (Proverbs 1:7, 2:6-7, 2:10-12, 9:10; Philippians 4:8), and "to challenge students to live purposefully, with wisdom and discernment, according to Biblical principles and values, for the glory of God and in service to others.(Colossians 3:23, II Timothy 3:16-17, Titus 3:5-8, Matthew 21:19-22)." We are purposeful in choosing textbooks and curriculum that help us do that.
Join us in cheering our students on. Sign up to sponsor our curriculum for the 2024-2025 school year.
The price listed is for one item. The "slots" are how many more we need. For instance, if it says 12 slots, we will need 12 of those books. When you sign up, you are only committing to sponsor one item. If you would like to sponsor the class set, please let us know by texting the school's phone: 540-894-4234 and we will see that the website reflects that.
Some of the items have links so that you can take a look at the curriculum. YOU DO NOT NEED TO PURCHASE IT ON YOUR OWN. We will purchase the curriculum in bulk using our tax exempt status and making a large purchase reducing shipping and handling fees.
Here are two ways for you to sponsor our purchases:
*Give cash or a check to the school. Checks should be made out to Mineral Baptist Church with MCS in the memo line. Checks may be hand delivered or can be mailed to Mineral Christian School PO Box 595, Mineral, VA 23117.
*Give money online. We are charged a service fee, so please add 5%. Designate Mineral Christian School as the fund: https://www.mineralbaptistchurch.org/give
Our numbers and needs do have a little variability, and we appreciate your flexibility if we need to share finances between two subjects or two grade levels.
The word curriculum is from New Latin (a post-medieval form of Latin used mainly in churches and schools and for scientific coinages), in which language it means “a course of study.” It shares its ultimate root in classical Latin, where it meant “running” or “course” (as in “race course”), with words such as corridor, courier, and currency, all of which come from Latin currere “to run.” -MERRIAM WEBSTER
